Yesterday was a fun-filled day of mundane happenings. It started out with me printing a list of local garage sales, hopping in the truck with Barry and trying to hit all of them in order of closest to furthest away. What a nice way to interact with people. It was fun seeing the same people from sale to sale, almost comical. We saw a truck just like ours parked at one of the sales, and it was for sale. We passed a young woman walking away holding a newborn baby as we walked into the garage. I turned and looked back at her and saw that she was getting into that truck, so I told Barry and he quickly walked up to the truck to ask her how much, and she had just pulled out her boob to breast-feed her baby. She didn't see him, and he turned and walked back to the garage, scared and embarrassed. Hehe. He got a free shot. We ran into them again at an estate sale. I found myself in a bedroom with the young woman. Her husband was in another room with the baby. We briefly talked about what a pot was made of, porcelain or something like it. I looked at her cleavage and thought, boy, Barry got some free shot.
I picked up some treasures along our journey . . . a couple of blue bottles, a non-glass insulator, a bamboo planter, an ice cream bowl, a dog water bowl, a 1902 meat grinder, a horse bit, a pair of 550 Levi jeans for me, a pair of Nautical jeans for Barry, and a cow clock.
We also ran into Big Bear (our eccentric neighbor) making his rounds. We told him about the church sale that had brownies and bundt cake, so he was heading that way next.
Later that evening we decided to ride the Levy. It was crowded with fisherman and families picnicking. In fact I think they over-powered the sail-surfers that are usually there. Since the dike is closed due to Hurricane Ike, the dike lovers are taking over the levy. It's kind of nice. I sat on a memorial bench in front of some memorial flowers and enjoyed the view of the Galveston Bay. I thought of the person who was being memorialized as I sat on his bench. I was glad to be alive. Four big pelicans flew over my head. They were so close I could hear their wings working. It thrilled my soul. Barry picked up 185 cans while I sat and enjoyed my surroundings. We left the Levy and headed home to wash up and then off to eat..... Life is good.

185 cans? Man, that's a lot of cans. I didn't know there were that many out there.
